Specialising in business development in the start-up tech space, Paul’s leadership of AquaB benefits from his academic background in life sciences. Paul was previously Head of Business Development at BioSimulytics, a breakthrough pharmatech spin-out company, and he has a proven track record of scaling companies through commercial growth. As well as overseeing the development of the company to meet client and partner needs, Paul is leading on the commercialisation of AquaB’s nanobubble generators in the oil and gas sector.
Niall English
CTO
Professor Niall English is the lead-inventor of the electrostriction nanobubble generation technology that AquaB systems utilise. Niall is recognised globally as an expert in how external fields affect the ordering and behaviour of systems at the nanoscale and his research interests encompass nanoscience, electric-field effects, nanobubbles, carbon capture and gas hydrates. In addition to commercialising his nanobubble generation breakthrough at AquaB, Niall is a professor in Chemical Engineering at University College Dublin where he is investigating how electric-field-generated nanobubbles and nanodroplets can be optimised in their characteristics for use in water treatment, agriculture, aquaculture and carbon capture.
Alan Kennedy
COO
An expert in developing and managing multidisciplinary teams, Alan combines executive leadership with a track record of R&D, process optimisation and product development of novel technology in emerging sectors. Within AquaB, Alan manages the daily business operations of the company, leads on external engagement and oversees and assists the technical development team.
Elaine Shaw
Head of Operations & Finance
With a background in banking and finance, and a track record of driving business growth through collaboration and innovation, Elaine heads up the financial development of AquaB. She is involved in managing field trials, is supporting the commercialisation of the business and is overseeing pre-investment financial readiness.
Donagh Tuite
Head of Production
A postdoctoral engineer with expertise in irrigation and manufacturing, Donagh oversees the development and production of AquaB’s nanobubble generators. To ensure AquaB’s product range is optimised for easy deployment, Donagh works closely with our business development team to design installations that are perfectly aligned with the needs of early adopter clients.
Sorcha Mallon
Financial Controller
A Fellow of the Chartered Accountants of Ireland, Sorcha manages the financial elements of AquaB’s operations. Having trained and worked at PwC, more recently Sorcha has focused on supporting start-up and high-growth enterprise to scale.
